{"id":2410,"date":"2026-06-09T10:51:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T10:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hightechalliance.eu\/?p=2410"},"modified":"2026-08-25T14:21:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T14:21:50","slug":"artikel-agrobots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hightechalliance.eu\/en\/artikel-agrobots\/","title":{"rendered":"Start Agrobots 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eindhoven, 7 December 2023 \u2013 On 29 November, the OPZuid subsidy application for the AgroBOTS 2 project was approved by Stimulus Programmamanagement. The OPZuid programme 2021-2027 is a European subsidy programme for regional transition-driven innovation. The subsidy, including co-financing from the Province of Noord-Brabant, has been awarded for a period of 3 years and covers the development of five innovative robotics solutions (autonomous weeding, sorting, detecting &amp; packaging) for various crops. The AgroBOTS 2 project is a follow-up to the successful AgroBOTS 1 initiative and brings together agricultural parties, tech companies and network organisations to develop and demonstrate innovative robotics solutions across various crops. AgroBOTS 2 is largely carried out in, and benefits, the South Netherlands region, in particular the province of Noord-Brabant.<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>AgroBOTS 2<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agricultural sector is under pressure from a growing population, higher food quality requirements and a shortage of labour. Practical experience from the AgroBOTS 1 project (which concluded in December 2023) has led to important steps forward, but the path to widespread implementation of agri-robotics remains a challenge. By deploying innovative robotics and data-driven solutions, AgroBOTS 2 aims to tackle the challenges facing the agricultural sector head-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AgroBOTS 2 builds further on the agricultural transition already under way. The focus is on demonstrating the power of robotics in a variety of practical situations. From autonomous weeding in vegetable growing to disease monitoring in bulb cultivation and the packaging of mushrooms, these projects illustrate the versatility and potential of robotics across diverse crops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The AgroBOTS 2 projects:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Modular autonomous weeding \u2013 Development of a tool carrier with various tools that can drive autonomously across fields and remove weeds. This modular approach enables integration into different robotic platforms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sorting and disease detection in lily bulbs \u2013 Creation of a modular machine line for sorting lily bulbs by size and quality, and for detecting disease. This project offers solutions for labour-intensive processes in lily bulb cultivation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aphid detection \u2013 A mobile observation robot fitted with multi-spectral cameras, deployed to detect aphids in potato cultivation. Artificial intelligence is used to calculate the risk of viruses spread by these aphids.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sorting chrysanthemum cuttings \u2013 A robotisation project focused on singulating and sorting chrysanthemum cuttings to increase uniformity and optimise growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Packaging mushrooms \u2013 Development of a semi-automated harvesting system for mushroom cultivation, including scanning mushrooms for size and quality, sorting and streamlined logistics.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These innovations will not only increase efficiency but also contribute to sustainability and quality in agriculture. The underlying ambition is to accelerate the transition to sustainable and profitable agriculture, while simultaneously strengthening the high-tech sector by taking the lead in an emerging technological field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Agrobots.community<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AgroBOTS 2 project is a partnership between agricultural parties, tech companies and network organisations focused on developing and implementing robotics and data-driven solutions in the agricultural sector.
