3D Printing
Additive manufacturing (3D printing) is an indispensable discipline at High Tech Alliance. This technology enables us to produce lighter, stronger and highly complex components that are impossible to make with conventional machining techniques.
Product development and machine building with 3D printing
Would you like support in developing technical projects and products? Then additive manufacturing, one of our specialities, could be the right solution. Additive manufacturing is also known as 3D printing. This technique is used to produce lighter, stronger and complex components and systems.
The possibilities here are endless: think of developing prototypes, improving designs and optimising existing systems and products. We deploy these specialisms from a broad, international perspective, and they always form a fixed part of a larger overall project. This makes 3D printing an important part of the fields of machine building and product development at High Tech Alliance.
How does 3D printing work?
With 3D printing, a digital design is converted into a tangible, three-dimensional product. Using this additive manufacturing technology, three-dimensional model data build up a product using ultra-fine layers. Layer by layer fuses together until the final product is formed.
High Tech Alliance's engineers design the product model in 3D CAD, after which these designs are printed by the 3D printer. For technical projects with complex challenges, the 3D design for additive manufacturing is crucial. High Tech Alliance can print components from a 3D file, regardless of their complexity.
Benefits of Additive Manufacturing for Machine Building and Product Development
Why use additive manufacturing for machine building and product development? This method is particularly advantageous during the prototype phase: you quickly, and with little preparation time, create a representative and sturdy product that is lightweight and results in less production waste. This method can also be used excellently for products that consequently need to be kept in stock less around the world, and at a great price point.

Metal 3D Printing
Using additive manufacturing, High Tech Alliance can produce products in various metals, such as:
Aluminium
Bronze
Stainless steel
Titanium
Inconel
Plastic 3D Printing
Through 3D printing, High Tech Alliance can produce products in various plastics, such as:
Nylon (PA)
Polycarbonate (PC)
Carbon fibre (carbon)
Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE)
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)
Polylactide (PLA)
And even wood!
This is done with accuracies of ±0.1 mm or even smaller. Additive manufacturing is a good method for a final check of the 3D design, concept or prototype. Making corrections is relatively straightforward with this approach.
Not suited to mass production
Additive manufacturing doesn't only have advantages. The process is not yet suitable for mass production, but it is an excellent process for single items and small to medium-sized production runs. In addition, depending on the desired finish, additional costs are sometimes required for post-processing. This is often not necessary with conventional production techniques.
High Tech Alliance produces with 3D printing
Additive manufacturing is a perfect production method for quickly making a prototype. By using 3D printing to produce machine components, time is saved during the assembly process. 3D printing makes it possible to produce parts that traditionally consist of many components.
Thanks to this advanced technology, assemblies and welded joints can be reduced. If you would like to make use of this fast method through High Tech Alliance, you can be sure you'll save on costs.
