How do we handle your privacy?

Who are we?

High Tech Alliance. Our website address is: https://www.hightechalliance.eu

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service, if you use it. The Gravatar service's privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user and upload images to this site, please avoid uploading images with embedded EXIF GPS location data. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images.

Contact forms

Submissions made through contact forms are kept for a limited period in order to serve our clients. The information submitted is not used for marketing purposes.

Cookies

  • If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in a cookie. This is for your convenience, so you do not have to fill in these details again when you leave another comment. These cookies remain valid for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we also set several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies remain valid for two days, while screen options cookies remain valid for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. When you log out, the login cookies are removed.
  • If you edit or publish an article, your browser stores an additional cookie. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor had visited that other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

When you leave a comment, that comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments instead of having to moderate them manually.

For users who register on our website (where applicable), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have over your data?

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file containing the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where does your data get sent?

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

YouTube

Our website uses plug-ins from YouTube, which is operated by Google. The operator of these pages is YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

If you visit one of our pages containing a YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited.

If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can directly link your browsing behaviour to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

YouTube is used to make our website more attractive. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

More information about how user data is processed can be found in YouTube's privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Google Web Fonts

For a consistent display of fonts, this page uses web fonts provided by Google. When you open a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its cache in order to display text and fonts correctly.

To do this, your browser has to establish a direct connection with Google's servers. This means Google becomes aware that our web page has been visited via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts serves the interest of presenting our website in a consistent and attractive way. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font is used by your computer.

More information about how user data is processed can be found at: https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.
