Laser Technology
At High Tech Alliance, knowledge and experience in laser applications is one of our core specialities.
Laser Applications in Custom Machine Building
A laser system can be used for various purposes on different materials. Think of cutting, welding, printing, drilling, coating, cleaning, cladding, engraving and much more.
However, the laser system itself is only part of the overall production solution. In addition to deploying a suitable laser, we need to feed, position, process and inspect products. We can carry out inspection of the end product using image recognition with a vision system. Designing and building a production machine or production line with a laser system requires the necessary specialist knowledge, in both laser technology and machine building.
We deliver our custom machines turnkey. This means the machine is immediately ready for use. Commissioning the machine is also one of our responsibilities. High Tech Alliance's strength lies in designing and producing customer-specific machines incorporating the best-fitting laser system. We are happy to deploy our knowledge of laser systems for our clients' projects across the broad, international market.
Why choose laser technology in production?
Applying laser technology in a production environment delivers many benefits. A laser system offers high productivity, perfect and stable quality, and can be deployed 24 hours a day. This provides a direct competitive advantage. As a result, the cost savings from using laser systems at high production volumes are impressive. For manufacturing companies, laser systems offer unprecedented possibilities, making them ideally suited to an automated environment.
Overview of Industrial Laser Types and Their Applications
Various brands and laser types are available, each with its own specific application and characteristics:
Disc laser: Used for a wide range of processes, from creating holes finer than a hair to welding large ship components.
Diode laser: A compact laser system with low operating costs, commonly used for soldering and plastic welding.
Fibre laser: This laser offers excellent beam quality. It is used for extremely precise processes and high process speeds, such as precision welding, precision cutting and micro-material processing.
Pulsed laser: Highly suitable for micro-processes such as cutting, drilling, material removal and applying structures to a wide range of materials. The average power of this laser ranges from a few watts to a few hundred watts, with an extremely high peak pulse power. This is the ideal laser for situations where virtually no heat may be transferred to the material.
Marking laser: Specifically developed for engraving, material removal, annealing and many other applications. This can be done on materials such as metals, ceramics, plastic, silicon, glass and organic materials.
CO2 laser: A compact, robust and reliable laser system capable of high power up to 20 kW. This type of laser is mainly used forcutting metal.
