Project: Wafer exposure module
Precision technology for controlled wafer exposure, developed to meet the strict requirements of a cleanroom environment.
Engineering for extreme precision and cleanliness
In the semiconductor industry, the quality of wafers is directly dependent on the precision of the production process. For a client in this sector, High Tech Alliance developed a specialised exposure module. This module is designed to expose wafers using a specific light spectrum, in which the integrity of the product process must be safeguarded down to the smallest detail.
About this project
The challenge
The challenge in this project lay in the combination of specific physical requirements and the critical working environment. The light spectrum used was essential to the quality of the wafers, but placed heavy demands on the construction: materials had to be insensitive to the radiation, and internal light reflections were completely unacceptable. In addition, the module had to be fully suitable for use in a cleanroom, where even microscopic particles can affect the output. In this process, product quality was the absolute priority, with production output subordinate to the strict reliability of the end result.
The role of High Tech Alliance
In this project, High Tech Alliance acted as the technical partner translating abstract exposure principles into a functional, industrial system:
Engineering & Material Selection: Selection and validation of materials resistant to the specific light spectrum and free of reflections.
Cleanroom production: Ensuring a contamination-free assembly process, essential for applications in the semiconductor industry.
Turnkey Delivery: From concept to physical module, with the complete quality assurance process carried out in-house.
The Result: A flawless commissioning of the exposure module, which has since been used daily in the production of critical batches of wafer products.
Solution and result
High Tech Alliance's solution covered the entire process from engineering to realisation. We translated the exposure principle provided by the client into a technically robust design. Because standard solutions did not meet the specific light and material requirements, we carried out the entire development and production in-house. To meet strict cleanroom standards, all components were intensively cleaned and the entire assembly took place in our own cleanroom facilities.
