Vacancy: Mechanical Lead Engineer (Machine Building)
High Tech Alliance is a project organisation for innovative mechatronic solutions, where the disciplines of design, technology and knowledge come together and reinforce one another. We develop, design and deliver innovative industrial products and (custom) machines for both the domestic and international market, across a range of industries. Due to our growing number of challenging projects, we are looking to connect with an ambitious Mechanical Lead Engineer for our Valkenswaard location.
Are you the Mechanical Lead Engineer with experience in machine building who wants to grow and develop further, who enjoys working on innovative and sustainable solutions for society, at an informal, forward-thinking and young organisation with short lines of communication?
Then we would love to talk to you.
Your challenges
As Mechanical Lead Engineer (Machine Building), you will be part of a multidisciplinary project team. You will take the technical lead on projects from concept development through to delivery, and be involved both technically and organisationally in the development and realisation of customer-specific machines and technical products. You contribute creative thinking during the concept phase and go on to guide, shape and work out the concept based on the specifications in a modern 3D CAD environment. Alongside this hands-on role, you will also fulfil a leading, motivating and coaching role within the project.
Your responsibilities also include:
- Designing, engineering, drafting and calculating, while being (jointly) responsible for the development of high-quality mechanical and mechatronic machines, modules and technical products;
- Contributing ideas during the concept phase and providing the analytical basis for the concept.
- Preparing or assisting with drawing up machine or product specifications;
- Acting as the technical point of contact and being available to your colleagues with questions during the development phase, assembly, testing or commissioning at the client, with a guiding and coaching role in this.
- Providing support during the assembly and realisation of the systems in our workshop, and during commissioning at the client;
- Carrying out feasibility studies, design and process FMEAs and reviews, and supporting FAT/SAT acceptance testing internally and at the client's site;
- Being (jointly) responsible for the design and maintaining good contact throughout the project with those around you, such as the client, project team members and suppliers. The interfaces with mechatronics, electronics, software and production consistently play an important role here;
- Supporting the project manager with team meetings and technical and organisational matters
I started working at High Tech Alliance because there is still such great diversity here. One moment I'm working on practical mechanical tasks, the next I'm writing software. All of my interests are engaged in my work!

What you'll be doing
As Mechanical Lead Engineer at High Tech Alliance, you will be part of a multidisciplinary project team and involved in the project from concept development, design and engineering through to realisation of the prototype. In the role of Mechanical Lead Engineer, you independently devise innovative concepts for the challenge within your discipline and develop them further. You provide technical support to colleagues and guide the project from prototype to pilot production run. You also support workshop activities during assembly, testing and commissioning, so that a working system with the correct technical functionality can ultimately be delivered to the client.
About you
- You have completed a university of applied sciences (HBO) or university (WO) level degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering;
- You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience as a Mechanical (Lead) Engineer / Design Engineer in the development of custom machine building and/or technical product development;
- You produce designs and calculations, and build using modern 3D CAD software;
- You have theoretical and practical knowledge of construction principles, mechanisms and mechanics;
- You are structured, analytical, decisive, resilient under pressure and customer-focused;
